Forest Whitaker has signed on to star in John Wells’ “Emperor of Ocean Park” series set at MGM+. He joins previously announced cast members Grantham Coleman (“Lawman: Bass Reeves”), Tiffany Mack (“Jessica Jones”), and Paulina Lule (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”).
He’ll play Judge Oliver Garland, a notable name in national politics and the judicial system as well as the leader of his family. “He is stern, intelligent, calculating, and proud. As a Black man in America, navigating unwelcoming and often hostile environments, he has formed a hard exterior—that he’s come to rely on as a shield. He is a devoted father whose commitment to his family simultaneously bolsters and undercuts his deeply and rigidly held conservative principles,” reads the description.

Now that all the Defenders have ventured off to cancellation pastures, Jessica Jones is looking to end her Marvel series on her own terms.
Krysten Ritter is back as the title heroine of “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” a crimefighting force who’s had plenty of problems of her own over the run of the series. Staring down the events of the upcoming Season 3, she’ll have to find her way through a rocky set of interpersonal relationships, all while she tries to track down and eliminate the threat of one last enemy.
That foe might be one of the biggest forces they’ve faced so far. Jeremy Bobb joins the cast as Salinger, a brutal serial killer causing trouble at all levels of Jessica’s enterprise. Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Marvel’s Jessica Jones Season 3. This will be the final Marvel show that we will see on Netflix. After this, all the new Marvel shows will be coming to Disney+ and Hulu.
I’ve actually enjoyed the Jessica Jones series. The previous seasons have been filled with solid writing and great character development. I’m happy that the show is getting one more season to close up the story. It was also announced that the series will premiere on June 14th, 2019.
In the trailer we see that Jessica will be facing a “highly intelligent psychopath” who calls her a “fraud” and a “cheater no longer.” It’s a brief teaser, but it gets the job done. Here’s the synopsis for Jessica Jones Season 3:

“Marvel’s Jessica Jones” only has 13 episodes left until it says goodbye to Netflix for good, and the streaming giant is kick-starting the final season’s marketing push with a cryptic date announcement and four brand new first look photos. The series is the final Marvel show that will air on Netflix now that the streaming giant has cancelled the series and its sister shows “Luke Cake,” “Iron Fist,” “The Punisher,” and “Daredevil.” The move proved heartbreaking for Netflix-Marvel fans, especially in the wake of “Daredevil’s” critically acclaimed third season.

Even though Netflix has pulled the plug on Marvel, Jessica Jones season 3 will still happen, but it will be the final bow for the show.
The second season of Jessica Jones was a hit with critics. We praised the show for its willingness to step out of the shadow of its excellent first season, and how it shows genuine growth for Jessica, Trish Walker, Malcolm, Jeri Hogarth, and others. But the big question is: will Jessica Jones Season 3 happen?

And things have been looking pretty bleak for the Marvel Netflix Universe in general, with cancelations cancelations of Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil, and The Punisher. And, of course, they just axed Jessica...
