Vera Cruz (1954)
7/10
American cowboys participating in the war of Juaristas against the emperor Maximiliano
17 December 2001
The film is just a western for entertainment. Two greats of the screen, Gary Cooper and Burt Lancaster acting together gave the necessary color and action to this film. Some other then young actors also acted, such as Charles Bronson and Ernest Borgnine together with old guys as Cesar Romero and Henry Brandon. The merit of the film is that at least it shows how criminal were the Maximiliano's troops and the principles of the Juaristas fighters. The rest is just a story with plenty bullets and action done obviously by Lancaster and Cooper.
