A recently released convict (the titled character played by Peter Dobson) gets a winnebago and begins to drive all across the countryside to have total misadventures. Please. Terrible sitcom idea that actually ran an hour each week late on Friday nights for less than a season in 1993. Dobson has never proved he can be a legitimate performer. But really the problem was the tone of the series. It made itself out to be a silly comedy, but drama always sneaked in as each episode drove down the road. The gas tank was never full at the start and thus there was never any substantial steam generated. Like a bad spark plug, "Johnny Bago" died out very quickly before anyone ever really knew about it.
