This movie while trying for a sophisticated fifties romantic comedy edge, merely comes off as annoyingly pretentious and predictable. By the end of the film we were wishing that they would suffer some horrible tragedy, or at the very least shut up for a few seconds.
With the mannered acting and contrivedly talky dialogue, it would have been better if they had extended the film's initial "witty" black and white sequence into making the entire movie both black and white and silent.
