I always enjoy films about the Roman period and this one did not disappoint me. The opening battle scence was spectacular. I thought that Russel Crowe was slightly miscast in the part of main character Maximus, although his acting was good. The computer graphics were well done the scenes of ancient Rome were impressive but some of the animation was too repetiive and became unbeleivable. I rate this film along with other greats like Spartacus and Braveheart. Lets have many more
