When you just want to smile, and don't care about a plot.

I loved the film "Fighting Temptations". I didn't expect to see a detailed plot. It was a feel good movie with some good laughs and people in the movie audience felt compelled to clap. The outcome was predictable but so what. I smiled a lot and after a hard day at the office, it was just the lift I needed. This movie will find a place on the video shelf. Steve Harvey did a fine turn as the chronically smoking, slightly boozed DJ. Cuba's energetic performance was well worth seeing. Once again Beyonce proved that she is a up and coming talented performer. It was a joy to see Melba Moore back in action. Although I didn't quite understand where Rue McCallahan fit in the movie, after a while she grew on me as did the rest of the cast. I loved the ending hokiness and all. Sometimes people just need to feel good and not be concerned with a weighty plot. I would recommend "Fighting Temptations". I would definitely recommend the soundtrack. Not Cuba's greatest, but certainly a fun time.
