Funny, twisted film noir pastiche stars the ever more radiant Liv Tyler as a modern femme fatale, who changes the lives of several men, unfortunate bartender Dillon, his sleazeball lawyer cousin Reiser, Catholic widowed cop Goodman and seedy lecherous hitman Douglas. Oh, and add to that seriously demented twins (Diceman, nice to have you back!). Hollywood debut of (that´s NORWEGIAN!) director Zwart, whose flashy directorial style suits the ironic tone of this quite funny send up of old Hollywood crime melodramas. A game cast and a fast pace make for excellent entertainment, not to be taken seriously.

A bit too predictable with a final shootout that doesn´t seem absolutely necessary, but that´s Hollywood for ya. I almost thought that was Douglas in his Falling Down outfit entering the house near the end. ***
