Review of Best in Show

Best in Show (2000)
This movie is a hoot.

My husband and I really enjoyed this movie. It's just quirky and weird and funny. Don't expect it to be a story - it's done in documentary style with dog owners talking about getting ready for dog shows. The characterizations are hilarious. The glamour girl and the old man - like Anna Nicole Smith and her old guy - that was so funny. And the husband/wife team - they kept running into her old lovers who all had to remark on her love-making skills right in front of her daffy husband! This movie won't appeal to everyone. When it ended, an elderly couple in front of us stood up, and the lady turned to the man and said, "That's the last time I'm letting you pick the show." She looked like she wanted to slug him. We thought it was very funny - or more amusing than "ha ha" funny. But you do have to like quirky humor. Really - it's a hoot!!
