Not as Good as Journeys with George
21 October 2004
Alexandra Pelosi returns with all her mom's connections and a camera with terrible sound. A close look into the democratic race for the white house, we join Pelosi in 2003 and conclude with John Kerry's speech at the Democratic National Convention. Although at times, the documentary is interesting and captures some wonderful moments with the candidates, it lacks the hype that Journey with George had. Not that Joe Lieberman isn't interesting (wink wink) but the Road to the White House with Bush was much more entertaining. Plus, this second time around doesn't do much for Pelosi's film making career. While the first was a giant shot in the dark and a success, it made A Diary of a Political Tourist possible and nothing more. A nice attempt, but a giant fall from anything great.
