Desk Set (1957)
Charming
11 November 2004
A charming comedy from Tracy and Hepburn. An "efficiency expert" creates anxiety among the research staff at a major network. A clash of personalities leading to romance.

"Desk Set" succeeds in creating and sustaining a lighthearted mood with characters you want to spend time with.

Office politics, wisecracks (the always top notch Joan Blondell), and the concept that two adults can enjoy each other intellectually and romantically, and Christmas!

I especially enjoy Neva Patterson as Tracy's assistant. The scene where she is left to handle the research department on her own and starts at a level of complete confidence and competence becoming increasingly overwhelmed and out of control is a gem.

This is one to enjoy again and again.
