Review of Casanova

Casanova (2005)

Casanova, worthwhile seeing?

Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely! The whole cast shines in this television adaptation of the legend that was Casanova. What I liked about this adaptation is that it did not focus on what Casanova is most famous for!, but showed us more about the type of person he perhaps was. David Tennant is an under rated actor and plays the title part to perfection. Peter O' Toole is fantastic as ever playing the older Casanova retelling tales of his life to his eager listener Rose. Special mention here to Matt Lucas who plays one of the best parts of his life as the camp Duke. The music, costumes and sets are breathtaking and once again the genius writer that is Russell T Davis does not disappoint! Queer As Folk, Doctor Who and now Casanova, I'm thinking he should change his name to Russell T Midos!
