Bad cop, worse cop
24 March 2006
OK, this is a Bruce Willis movie. That means he is the star, he does everything, he is the man, he saves everybody. However, the effects are not completely exaggerated, he doesn't play the energetic action hero anymore and, yes, he lets someone else do stuff (on his brilliant ideas, of course :) ).

What this gets you is a believable cop movie, with the little problem that this should not happen in this day and age when instant communication is at the push of a button. That gave me the feeling that the film is a remade idea from an older movie and people here did point out The Gauntlet, a film that I didn't see or I just don't remember.

There are some good actors here, including I would say rising star Mos Def, Bruce Willis (who's best effort is still Moonlighting if you ask me) and last but not least David Morse, who somehow got from the Prototype to be cast as a cop a lot. One could even recognize Conrad Pla in a very secondary role.

The movie is neither too good nor too bad. It makes for good entertainment, but I wouldn't rate it above a TV movie.
