Great concept... mediocre execution.

"Lo que la gente cuenta" has become a quick success by TV Azteca but I would say that it does not deliver expectations.

This program is based on horror tales that people have experienced; stories told by people through generations maybe. Mèxico is a country were Horror urban myths and legends are very popular so Azteca tried to capitalize it.

The result is rather mediocre. The cinematography is in the likes of a cheap soap opera so you can say that the visuals aren't even good. The editing may be the worst thing about it. EVERY single scene in the show is intended to be "shocking". You can say it because of the sounds and weird camera angles. Let me tell you something TV AZteca; in order to create a scary, unsettling Horror show you need to create a tense and dark atmosphere. "Lo que la gente cuenta" relies it's scariness on the shocking images and sounds. That's it.

The acting is mostly atrocious and it seems that most actors and actresses feel uncomfortable.

This is a really good idea because Mèxico is a traditionally rich country in scary stories told by people. The sad thing is that this t.v. show is highly overrated but the reality is that it's very mediocre.

I'm pretty sure that people who think this is a QUALITY show, is people from TV AZTECA or people that do not know what's t.v. quality.

This is crap at it's finest. Avoid it! Mexicans, don't let them give us MEDIOCRE pieces of trash like this.
