Caught by accident - yes, me too!

Warning: Spoilers
I, too, caught this by accident in the 70s. It amazes me how many people talk about this film bearing in mind I believe it only ever aired once in the UK. It is a fantastic film with one of the best portrayals ever of rising fear, general acceptance and then outright terror as realisation dawns. The great strength of the film is that there is no explanation and sometimes life is just like that (for a more modern equivalent of this theme read Stephen King's The Colorado Kid).

After years of being haunted by this film I finally got to see it again last night and it was every bit as harrowing as I'd remembered. In fact my memory of it was pretty much scene for scene accurate - just goes to show how deeply it imprinted itself.

As memorable a film as the Trilogy of Terrory segment where Karen Black battles a voodoo doll in her apartment. Another haunting film.
