Based on Fact/Family movie
18 December 2006
I always seem to enjoy movies/mini-series about families. Family is very important to me, my parents died young, but I do have my children.

I thought "To Serve and Protect" was an excellent family story and it was based on the life of Tom Karr (Craig T. Nelson's character), a Dallas police officer. I've seen much more wooden acting than this for sure. Many times I look for the novels movies are based on and buy the book if the movie is interesting enough.

John Corbett (Brad) was in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." And he doesn't do so bad for himself if you look in his filmography. Craig T. Nelson was in "Coach" for years and "The District" did pretty well for itself. I enjoyed that series very much.

Richard Crenna has since died, but I think he was an excellent actor in the role of "Grandpa" going way back to "The Real McCoys." Maybe "Crap" would not be the description for this movie/mini-series if more people in this country would pay more attention to the credits in any film or television series and to "the details" in everyday life. "Stop and smell the roses" once in a while, think things out, look up the actors, see how much experience they have, watch some of their other films/movies/TV shows and maybe someone would not have called this movie "Crap."
