Review of Helga

Helga (1967)
8/10
Sponsored by the German government
28 June 2008
This educational movie was proposed and sponsored by the German government.

Soon after been appointed health secretary, Käte Strobel, aged 60, promoted sex education.

For that, she also used modern means, school books, and this movie project.

The resulting movie was a first, and is thus considered a milestone.

Of course it was highly controversial, but even more successful, in Germany and elsewhere.

In hindsight, it is also blamed for breaking a taboo and triggering a wave of lesser movies.
