A solid movie, with some flaws, but overall pretty good
3 August 2008
Sidney Lumet's tale of two brothers who organize the robbery of their parents' jewelry stores and it goes as wrong as possible. The film has some cold spots, but overall is very good in delivering its climax, and the actors help making very good performances, especially Seymour Hoffman and Tomei. It has some good cinematography by Ron Fortunato and solid editing by Tom Swartwout, and decent music from Carter Burwell. It has some parts which drag on and could have had better transitions overseen by director/editing crew, but for the most part, its pretty solid in delivering, and is interesting for the most part. - IMDb Rating: 7.5. MY Rating: 8/10
