Devil Hunters (1989)

Warning: Spoilers
First I must say I have a liking for Hong Kong thrillers, at least for the police side of it - all those young, determined, strong persons. This movie offers quite a handful of them, with a surprisingly high share of women. On the other side of the law, there's a few strong women as well, so expect quite some girl-fu. (Shooting and bombing, too, of course).

What also made this worth watching was many scenes set in the HK mountainside or sea, as well as takes in modest dwellings (and the family angle of Shin, which I found much more convincing than all the shoot-em-ups). Compared with IA 1&2 or New Police Story (which of course are better produced), this oldie might even offer more local flavor - I loved the KCRC train, or the car chase on mountain roads, even though the plot had me confused. Still, a good experience, at least if you've been to HK in the 1980s.
