Moves like the Bluesmobile
27 October 2008
This is a feature-length behind-the-scenes production found on the Collector's Edition DVD of The Blues Brothers, and obviously also focusing on that film. This is marvelously well-paced. There is not a dull moment to be found in the almost full hour it takes, and I certainly consider my time on it well-spent... and this wasn't even my first viewing. It's got plenty of information, and its share of anecdotes, as well. It's made up of footage from the set, other candid material and such, clips of the movie and interview parts, with basically everyone, the band, the actors, Landis, and more. Interesting things are shared and revealed from the various talking heads. The editing is spot-on, as tight as it gets. The music choices, props to whoever was in charge of that. There is some language, it's really not that much or often, but when it is there, it can be pretty pervasive and harsh, so anyone bothered by that might want to think twice before watching. I recommend this to anyone who can be called a fan of the original silver screen effort, the songs, and/or the people. 7/10
