Lost: Left Behind (2007)
Season 3, Episode 15
7/10

Warning: Spoilers
The problem with the previous Season 3 episode focusing on Kate - "I Do" - was that the flashback was largely pointless. It looked as if the writers had come to kind of a dead end with her "fugitive on the run" story. "Left Behind" improves somewhat on that point by having Kate encounter a character from Sawyer's past - thus creating a new connection between them - and also confronting her mother about calling the cops on her. The present on-island action finds Kate and Juliet Left Behind and handcuffed to each other, and their scenes together are fairly tense. But the most satisfying part of this episode is probably the beach camp subplot, with Hurley tricking Sawyer into playing nice for everyone. It's not really a bad episode, but following right after something as innovative and atypical as "Exposé", it is definitely a comedown. *** out of 4.
