I loved the first re-make of "The Ring". Seeing that in the movie theater sent chills up my spine. I had never been so pleased to actually be moved by a horror film, as I had become very jaded by the horror genre and thought there was nothing that could move me to actually being scared. I also enjoyed the Japanese originals as well. Not as scary as the remake, but I appreciated the source material. Then we come to "The Ring Two" and I have to say...
It was a let down. Very contrived and self absorb ant relationship between the mother and child. The sequel might have been better if they explored what had happened up to the point where the movie actually began, I'm referring to the viral nature of that VHS cassette being passed among all those teenagers. I know there had been a short down but it could have been expanded. Instead, we got this dull, plodding mess!
