Termination Point (2007 TV Movie)
Somewhat better than you may think

Warning: Spoilers
I thought that this movie was going to be junk, considering that it was a low-budget Canadian movie with washed-up actors. Actually, the movie ended up being a lot more entertaining than I thought.

To begin with, the acting by all the participants is generally good. Priestley is careful not to act like Superman in his heroic role, and he ends up being a believable protagonist that you hope will succeed. Phillips is actually good in an atypical role as a scientist - I actually didn't recognize him right away when I first saw him! The movie actually builds a decent amount of tension, in part due to some bad guys who seem unstoppable yet believable. I actually wondered if the protagonists would prevail.

Is there anything bad about the movie? Well, the computer-generated special effects are not theatrical film quality. They are often quite cheesy. But for what must have been a VERY low budget, they do the job. Also, the ending of the movie raises some unanswered questions, like with the hero's cel phone doing something that I think would be impossible given the circumstances. Still, the movie overall manages to be an entertaining B movie - that is, if you don't pay to see it.
