Warning: Spoilers
The APO's new mission is to retrieve or destroy Valta, a super-computer that was stolen from the NSA by a British criminal called Martin Bishop, who plans to sell it to a new German terrorist organization. Meanwhile, Jack, under threat of having his involvement in Irina's death exposed, is assigned to do the psych evaluation tests on Nadia - will he grab the opportunity to get out of his tight spot? Of course he will. "The Awful Truth" is an episode primarily for Jack Bristow fans (even the title is quoted from him): he proves yet again that he is always ahead of most others in the game, and at the end he even looks (justifiably) smug and pleased with himself about it. Oh, and Mia Maestro continues to rock. The main part of the story, the Sydney-Bishop situation, is suspenseful enough and ends with a good car stunt sequence, but the problem is, we don't really care about Valta. Bring back the Rambaldi devices! *** out of 4.
