The Inbetweeners (2008–2010)
7/10
Written very close to between "just right" and "genuinely funny"

It reminds me of That 70's Show in that it always thought it was funnier than it really was. Lots of good setups and concepts but not every single thing works.Mind you my only knowledge so far is the 2 episodes I saw last night on BBC America, that is all. I like how the obviously most attractive kid is not the center of the story.(In fact, now that I think about it the four guys and their relationships to each other are a dead ringer for Hyde,Kelso,Fez and Eric, hmph, weird.)Anyway I think it worked best in the side bits and quirky unexplainable things.. there was a bit last night where Jay said hello and a few words in passing to an older guy whom he knew around town and then after was picked on by the other two about how he had a "Friend",,, awww a "friend" they'd say sarcastically with goofy smiles and thumbs up, because the others didn't really know him I guess,it was nothing of course, but that's the kind of unexplainable stupidity 15 yr old boys do to each other.-- It shouldn't have worked because there was no real context, but it did. It had crossed over into the Seinfeld zone of device made from nothing as opposed to some planned out scripted thing. If they continue in that vein and don't grow up too soon, this show could become the new "Young Ones"-(yes I know the Young Ones will never be replaced- It's just for context, put your guns away.)
