A shocking revelation
3 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After some impressive Morse code blinking Jack and Sydney manage to neutralise Ineni Hassan's guards and take him into CIA custody. After Jack takes some pictures of his apparently dead body he is flown back to America. Once Sydney returns Vaughn has some shocking news for her; the KGB codes hidden in the books Jack had given to her mother contained kill orders for several CIA operatives including Vaughn's father; understandable he is determined to turn Jack in despite Sydney's protestations that he is needed to bring down SD-6. Hassan gives the CIA the location of his weapons cache and Sydney is sent to retrieve a specific item. It turns out to be a trap as he gives her the wrong access code which causes petrol to be sprayed into the room Sydney is trapped in; if Vaughn doesn't get a guarantee that his family will be given protection within a minute the petrol will be ignited! Surprisingly that isn't the end of the episode; after a spectacular escape Sydney and Vaughn take their information about Jack to the CIA and learn the shocking truth about what really happened twenty five years previously.

This was another exiting episode; Victor Garber demonstrated that he can do action as well as being menacing in the role of Jack. There were plenty of decent action scenes and an impressive explosion; most interesting however was the revelation at the end; it was quite a bombshell and will no doubt be relevant to many future episodes. People wanting to know more about Will's investigation may disappointed that it wasn't mentioned in this episode; no doubt we will see more of it soon though.
