Lovely movie
10 June 2012
I bought this as a DVD as a light-hearted movie to pass the time one rainy afternoon. But I really loved it. Paul Rudd plays a character who all of us know in some form -- happy go lucky, guileless, sweet, non-aggressive and honest to a fault. It's actually refreshing to see a lead character who is so gentle and it plays off well against a smarmy Steve Coogan and Rudd's three more uptight and worldly wise sisters. The supporting cast is really good. The woman who plays the ''idiot's'' ex-girlfriend is excellent, as is the guy who plays the ex-girlfriend's new lover. It still works as light entertainment but it also had something to say about being yourself and (for the sisters) looking closer at, and accepting, someone who may first appear to be a fool.
