Ana Faris Does It Again - Unfortunately!
24 November 2012
Ana Faris has a real talent for playing mindless, empty characters. (I'm tempted to use the word "vapid" in honour of her other masterpiece, "The House Bunny," but I'd really rather forget that one if I could.) I will say that at least I got a chuckle out of that one. In "What's Your Number," I found the chuckles to be desperately few and far between. In this, Faris plays Ally, a young woman who's been through man after man and has never met the right guy - which really hits her when her sister becomes engaged to a guy no one thought was right for her. She then discovers from a magazine article that she's slept with almost twice as many men as the average woman. Committing herself to no more bed partners (but not to a life of celibacy) she becomes desperate to search out the twenty men she's been with, believing that one of them must be Mr. Right (and, after all, since she's already slept with these guys, they don't add to her total!) So she enlists the aid of her hunky neighbour to track them down.

Really, this is charmless all the way through, it's often crude and it's painfully obvious as to where it's going. Ana Faris is adorable, sure, but her cuteness can't save this. It's really just a bad movie. What more is there really to say about this? Consider yourself warned! (2/10)
