Review of Joey

Joey (2004– )
5/10
Fail by comparison

Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) leaves New York for Hollywood to pursue his acting career full time. His slutty sister Gina (Drea de Matteo) buys him a nice apartment, and he finds a new roommate in his 20-year old nephew rocket scientist Michael (Paulo Costanzo). Bobbie Morganstern (Jennifer Coolidge) is his agent. Alex Garrett (Andrea Anders) is their landlord and neighbor.

This was the first attempt by a cast member of 'Friends' at a TV series. And Matt LeBlanc was universally panned for it. Sadly, it was not without reason. Although it did sputter on for 2 full seasons. Matt was basically playing the same guy. Except in this one, he was the top dog rather one of six. The chemistry never truly flowed between the characters. And the laughs were fewer. It didn't have a chance when everybody was comparing it to 'Friends'.
