Person of Interest: Reasonable Doubt (2013)

Warning: Spoilers
One of the best things about 'Person of Interest' is what any series needs to survive: Interesting characters. They're simply a pleasure to watch. Episodes like this make it easy for most fans to overlook the minimal progression of the overarching plot line. This episode is definitely a story-of-the-week, not one that is likely to be revisited in the future (a certain character's decision notwithstanding). But that definitely does not diminish the quality of this somewhat standalone episode. Aside from the unclear fates of two minor characters and, as mentioned before, a mere pawn's move in the larger game being played here. Yet most of the protagonists (all of the regulars) make meaningful appearances, and that alone seems to be able to keep this show enjoyable. And most fortunately, that pawn's move I mentioned instantly takes a character that could have become annoying quick and gives them an edge with a fairly surprising revelation.

I will say that my personal hope is for the series to put more focus on the overarching plot (as it has done previously in most excellent form), but as long as they keep churning out episodes of this quality, they have a loyal fan in me.
