Outtakes Are Better Than Nothing

Take It Out in Trade: The Outtakes (1995)

In 1970 Edward D. Wood, Jr. made a softcore picture called TAKE IT OUT IN TRADE, which has sadly been lost over the decades. The word "lost" is up for debate as some claim the film is out there but for some reason has never been given an official release since it's director gained his popularity. What we have here are about 69-minutes worth of outtakes that Something Weird Video discovered in a theater and there's no sound so this here is mainly going to appeal to die-hard fans of Ed Wood who want to see anything they can. While it's frustrating not to have the real film these outtakes are certainly better than nothing. Obviously, considering this was a softcore movies, there's all sorts of nudity running throughout these outtakes and I must admit that some of it was quite erotic. I've seen a couple of Wood's sexploitation pictures and I've actually found them to be quite entertaining. The plot of this film deals with parents hiring a private investigator (Duke Moore) to track down their daughter who is working at a whorehouse. From the outtakes it appears the investigator decides to take part in some fun with several of the girls. It's impossible to judge the real film from these outtakes but I must admit that I'm really hoping it sees the light of day at some point. There seems to be some funny moments and then we have Wood playing a cross-dressing in a lime dress.
