Revolution: Captain Trips (2014)
Season 2, Episode 12
7/10
Good Show, Bad Science
5 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I would like to point out that the science is extremely bad in this episode. There is no way that Rachel could have discerned the difference between naturally occurring Typhus and engineered Typhus by observing "tagged proteins". One cannot even observe tagged proteins on bacteria using a modern microscope with proper electrically-powered illumination, unless photosensitive antibodies and immunohistochemistry are used. This doesn't take into account that she was using a 19th century microscope in a dark tent. I wouldn't have minded as much if this wasn't an important plot device used to implicate the Patriots in a bio-warfare eugenic genocide scheme using the disease. Otherwise this it is a good show and I will continue to watch.
