Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the better animated television series ever produced. There will be spoilers ahead:

At first glance, this would seem to be a very simple show. The basic premise is that there is a lab mouse bent on taking over the world, with the dubious "help" of a dim bulb lab mouse. The plans, of course, fail miserably. It really doesn't sound like much when stated outright.

The beauty of the show is in the details. It is established that they will ultimately fail. You watch to see, one, just how they fail, what Pinky does to doom Brain's plan on most episodes and what the gags will be along the way.

The show can be appreciated on more than one level. Frequently, they parody movies and television shows, the voice actor doing brain is doing a parody of Orson Welles and there are jokes kids will enjoy on their level which also have layers to them which adults will enjoy.

Pinky and the Brain started out as a recurring segment on Animaniacs and then got their own series. The scripts and voice work are excellent and the show is well worth watching. The entire series is available on DVD. Most recommended.
