The acting in this film was pretty good with the script they were given, that being said if I was handed a children's book I could probably act it out pretty well too.
The characters don't build the back story enough, who are they why have they ended up together, why does it take so little effort to turn them all into homicidal maniacs? They make no effort to understand the machine or why its pointed at them not some where useful, nor do they put the machine to any use what so ever. The movie is less about time travel and more about bookies, watch get shorty at least you might have a laugh.
