I have to admit even though I'm an adult I've always been a big fan of sponge bob, I loved the first movie and the episodes. This movie however is a real disappointment! It lacked the witty one liners that the sponge bob episodes are famous for. I thought the seagulls and Antonio Banderas got far too much screen time, I think they were trying to appeal to a younger audience instead of the die hard sponge bob fans. The story was just boring and not well thought out. I felt that this movie did not pay reference or homage to the episodes or past movie. There was only one musical number with sponge bob in the whole movie, which really surprised me because the first movie had great songs like 'goofy goober rock'. This show was a part of my childhood but I kinda felt like this movie ruined it.
