Everyone With Enemies Has Consequences

Warning: Spoilers
Part of what makes a great hero is how great his or her villain is. But also part of the equation is just how dire the consequences can be for how heroes or villains. The aftermath of Foggy finding out Matt's secret and then Vanessa being presumably poisoned hit our main characters very hard. It was very much an episode that showcased just how similar the lifestyle can be on both sides of the coin even with their ideologies being so far apart. I liked that approach and it's one that has been tackled with stories on Batman and the Joker. To be who they both are, they need each other.

Foggy is falling apart after, in his mind, losing his best friend. I'm sure at some point they will bro hug it out and make up, but for now we will have to do without their relationship. With Foggy taking a back burner this episode, Karen was at the forefront. In typical Karen form, she isn't backing down from going after Fisk. It's one of the things I really like about her character. She's like Laurel Lance without all of her annoying and whiny traits. Killing Wesley at the end there was pretty great too, although it still doesn't make much sense as to why he would leave a loaded gun on the table.

Rosario Dawson made an appearance once again. I say appearance because all she's doing is cameo-ing at this point. She comes and goes to give Matt advice and then leaves. And if her leaving at the end of this episode is the last we see of her this season, I wont be surprised. Back at the hospital, Vanessa is in intensive care and it became pretty clear that Owlsley is behind the poisoned glasses. I wouldn't mind someone shutting his character up very soon as well.

But back to Matt battling with his own demons, or devil as he addressed it. I really love the scenes at the church with the father. I've said it before but I think it brings such an interesting a new dynamic to a superhero. Besides the brief but important scene in Man of Steel, I don't think any film or TV show has tackled that part of the hero's life. I wouldn't be surprised if the priest actually ends up giving Matt the Daredevil name. So this episode was once again much better than I had thought it would be and gave multiple new looks at the characters. And I almost forgot to mention that it seems as though Matt will finally be getting his suit from Melvin Potter.
