I am a fan of heroes of the first version. And it was exiting for me to wait for this 'reborn' but it was not fun to watch. It does not really drag you to the story nor to the characters.
Mystery is good up to some level, beyond that, I believe it will be nonsense. Which happened here, many characters are introduced without a good background, hard to track what is actually going on. In the end you may want to say "Whatever!".
Secondly some scenes has to be explained otherwise you will think writer is massing with your logic. I can believe that somebody is flying because it has some special power but I cant understand how two normal person come and kill bunch of heroes which have some special powers. One of them has flash power, can move fast but his speed only works to be shoot by a bullet and die faster? The other hero was about to send a fireball, but it took so long that that one of the normal person found a fire distinguisher and stopped him. Really? Why not fire with the gun? To make of fun of heroes' powers? Whatever the reason is it is does not make sense. Another scene, Benet, the guy used to have glass. I don't remember why the glass is that important. How can somebody forgot he needs glass? Maybe somebody erased his brain but did they also erase his mind? You may forget your name but you cant forget that you need glass. Your eyes will scream every second "I cant see it right!". How about the meeting with the mind blowing guy(!). Benet finds a card and visit a glass shop. The secretary or the girl in the main desk tries to kill Benet, but his old friend stop her and ask him to meet somewhere. Benet goes that place but guess what? The old friend only came to bring his glass and to kill him. If you were about to kill why did not you let the girl do it? What is it with the glass, why a person gives a glass to person that he is about to kill? How can a person get rid of from such a deadly approach and kills the person in his back? If you were to vote who will be the killer, the black guy or the white guy, I believe you would favor on the black one. Because he looks stronger and he is coming from back with a deadly rope. We can mention many more such scenes which are hard to explain. Anyway, in the end you will say " Nah, I don't buy it".
The last but may be the most bothering is "the concept of heroes". Why heroes are not happy that they have special powers? To have a regular life? I don't understand this. Why always heroes are hunted by humans? Why the humankind is hunting them instead of benefiting them. For me the audience wants the heroes show their abilities, do some fun stuff. This a natural request I guess, that is what heroes are for, right? But because of this hunt cliché, in these heroes movies and TV series heroes suppress their powers. This is very disappointing.
I guess my expectation for "free heroes which show their powers" has to wait again for another TV series. Let the heroes fight whether bad heroes vs good heroes, or good heroes vs evils from outside world. That will be more fun than this drama, mystery mix type thing whatever you want to call..
