Warning: Spoilers
"Ruin" is an 8-minute short film from 4 years ago written and directed by Wes Ball, the man behind the "Maze Runner" movies. However, this short film here is not live action, but animation. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, where apparently economy and industry do no longer exist. We see a man who gets spotted by a gigantic drone and the rest of the film we witness how he is hunted by it and also by its 2 smaller cousins. We do not know who he is and why he is chased so hard. He could even be evil. Who knows. The animation, however, is pretty great, especially the way Ball depicted how nature got back the buildings etc. Still, it's an example of style over substance in animation and I was not too impressed by it. The lack of story is just too massive. The ending indicated that there may be a sequel, but I'm not sure if I want to watch that. Not recommended.
