Crazy Moon (1987)
6/10
sweet romance

Brooks (Kiefer Sutherland) is a smart but odd teen from a rich family. He listens to old music, afraid to swim and misses his mother terribly. His father has yet another trophy wife. Brooks goes into a store to buy a mannequin from Anne (Vanessa Vaughan) but she's deaf and doesn't hear him. His douchy older brother runs off with a jacket and Brooks mindlessly takes the mannequin. He falls for Anne and they enrich each other's lives.

Feeling up the mannequin in front of Pamela is hilarious. Sutherland and Vaughan are a charming couple. They're both super sweet. I love all the old music which makes that cheesy concert of 80s music sticks out. The movie should try to stick to the old fashion music especially during the climax. I like the confrontation with his brother but Brooks becomes too much of a bad azz rebel in the end. He should keep his sweet oddball innocence. They should have a romantic kiss in the airport. It's a slight miscalibration.
