4/10
Felt very pretentious to me

Warning: Spoilers
"There's Only One Sun" is a 9-minute live action short film from 2007, so almost 10 years ago and this one was written and directed by Kar-Wai Wong, one of his shorter works. But don't be fooled by the filmmaker's origin or the film's title as the language in here is predominantly French (due to the lead actress' nationality) with occasional Russian. I personally did not enjoy the watch at all. 4 stars out of 10 felt very generous to me. This one felt pretty pretentious and style over substance mostly. It was like a commercial for perfume or jewelry that felt like it would never end. But luckily it still did before the 10-minute mark. It's certainly a contender for Wang's worst from what I have seen so far and Daure also didn't do really much for me. Guess there's a reason why she never broke through despite appearing like a rising star back then. Nothing memorable about her or her film here. I give it a thumbs-down.
