Warning: Spoilers
Decent programmer about novice lady attorney who goes undercover to prove her father not guilty of a murder charge. Irene Hervey gives a feisty and determined performance as a secret lady card shark who poses as a famous dealer from San Francisco working in a private gambling house as she sets out to dig up information on suspects in the murder her father was accused of committing. She is involved with the heir to a huge estate (Kent Taylor) who happens to be out to expose organized crime and doesn't approve of her methods, pretending to be a common dame, thus risking their relationship as well as her career. Hervey is supported by a great supporting cast, and some very fast pacing and excellent editing aids in making this quite above average in the dozens of programmers released each year during the war years.
