3/10
Unexpected Plot.

Warning: Spoilers
Don't let my lower rating than most scare you out of seeing this film. It really wasn't bad. The only thing I would want to make clear though is that, in truth, this isn't really a monster movie or one of those old creature features we all watched on Saturday nights when our parents were asleep. No, this was more of a murder-mystery type film. It brings in a good bit of psychological terror as well. The main protagonist, a young rich heiress is slowly being poisoned by one of the people staying in her castle, but no one can figure out whom. The ending of course being one of the most iconic, deeply repressed fears of them all. The fear of being buried alive, which does happen to her in the end. The incorporation of the antagonist either dressing up as, or being dreamed as some type of horrifying disfigured monster adds a somewhat scooby-doo like setting, and slowly tries to pick our brains. I really liked how they incorporated such a psychological touch to the film.
