This definitely has spoilers. For a one-time view, this was suspenseful and worth watching - until the end. Richard Gere finally figures out the prophecy and races to the bridge, that now is loaded bumper-to-bumber with stalled cars because of a problem with traffic control.
The bridge begins to buckle under the excessive weight. Cables begin snapping. The bridge begins to sag. Richard is running amok screaming for people to get out of their cars and run for their lives.
But everybody just sits there with the engines running, oblivious to what's going on, even though they can see the cables snapping all around them. And then the bridge collapses, with their cars falling to the river - at their great surprise.
