I don't think this deserves the bad reviews that it's gotten. It's a dramatisation of a historical events, so I think it should just be taken with a pinch of salt. But, it's still relatable (especially to a Jamaican person). This appeals to popular culture, the first episode ends pretty well, the second episode is pretty fluffy but it sets up the third episode that rounds the series off pretty well. Slavery was a thing and I think people need to be reminded of that, especially when you have people like Kanye spouting that "slavery was a choice" in the media.
