Not being medically minded I cant comment on the position of the baby who for 46hours makes NO noise whatsoever. Paul Walker does a reasonable job as the concerned parent who is never off screen and for the most part is on his own and has no end of trouble keeping his baby alive when the hospital equipment begins to fail during Hurricane Katrina. I didn't, for me, find this particularly believable that hospital staff would deliberately LEAVE a new born baby to die, but inadvertently leave him to fend for himself with the child. with little food and drink and NOT actually being able to sleep during the 46 hours. Not a film I shall watch again and sadly on "freeview" this is the best they can come up with its not worth bothering with.
