This was the first all-color, all-talking musical feature, and the best thing about it is watching the brilliant Ethel Waters sing "Am I Blue." In the second half of the number, Waters is accompanied by the Four Emperors of Harmony. A victim of the haphazard preservation of American films, copies of this movie survive only in black-and-white.
