Westworld: Passed Pawn (2020)
Season 3, Episode 7

I miss Dr.Ford (containing low-level spoilers)
27 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Looks like we are not going to see master Hopkins in season 3 now. However, I would positively recognize episode 7 as one of the best in season 3, maybe the third best because episode 4 and 6 were just relatively better.

Dolores proves that she did achive a black-belt in Taekwondo if you watch the appendix part of this episode, but the fighting part of our two destined goddesses is just not that "fighting". To be fair, I was definitely not thrilled by the part.

Caleb, man, I love his performance in the Breaking Bad, but in this show, all I ever saw about him was just a painful, doubtful, twisting face. Maybe the role was set to be like this I don't know, but what a hard labor for Paul, good job.

Maeve was awesome, dressed like a extremely-disciplined stalking ninja, and she did perform very well. However this episode was not made for her, it was made for both Maeve and Dolores, as I could see in the episode 8 trailor, that fight going on again is ultimate.

Bernard and Stabbs played as the "Answer Machine", putting closure on a lot of whirling questions. Other than that, they still did nothing. (Oh no, not nothing, William is doing something about them)

Overall, I think the biggest use of this episode is to pave way for the seaon finale. We get hung high for the coming of the next week, jumping in our houses up and down thinking about the end of it all. I don't know if Serac will continue his storyline in the next season? But after a season of observing him, I see somehow shadows of Ford in him. Or maybe it's just that I miss Ford so much.

Goddamn it, will I ever hear "Hello, old friend." ever again?
