Warning: Spoilers
One struggles to find something positive to say about this curate's egg manqué'. There were three well-known night clubs in Manhattan, the Stork Club, El Morocco (Elmers to the hip) and the Copacabana and two of them featured in undistinguished movies. The mob-owned Copa was famously fronted by Jules Podell so what Steve Cochran is doing as front man Steve Hunt is anybodys guess. It was at the Copa that around the time the film was made Sinatra literally lost his voice onstage and walked off. Would that they had shot that instead of drek like this; Sinatra with no voice is still light years ahead of Andy Russell. Ironically Sinatra, who couldn't get arrested in the late forties made one of the all-time great comebacks but this movie was one of the all-time dogs. Mama Will Bark indeed.
