Unexpectedly good
30 May 2020
Chose this movie expecting a generic housewife comedy, but ínstead hoy something pretty good. The film explores mid life and its ups and downs in a very compelling way. Character arcs are very good, and the chemistry between them is great. Holofcener's approach manages to show stories that hit really close to home white staying entertaining. However, some scenes come off as pointless and just don't fit the narrative. I also don't get why was there so much focus in the gay husband substorie, seems out of place, and eventually builds up to nothing. The performances are pretty good, and Anniston surprised me lot. To sum up, I recommend this film to anyone looking for a good time and a fresh perspective on reationships.
