Here Comes the Judge!

Warning: Spoilers
Annalise O'Neill has been appointed the newest and youngest judge in the state. But just as she about to put on the robes, her daughter Carly is abducted. A rebellious teen, Carly had an argument with her mom and ran away. But before she could even make her getaway, Carly was picked up by a human trafficking ring. The race is now on to find Carly.

A major shortcoming of the film was the lack of credibility in the judge, who took matters into her own hands to find her daughter. The ex-husband of Annalise is a detective working the case. The judge knows that her ex, Derek Sutton would completely compromise the case by discussing it with her. Yet she ignores his advice, forces the issue, and nearly loses her daughter in the process.

It was also a stretch to believe that the villain of the film, a nefarious creature with the inappropriate name of John Gallant, would go on TV along with the judge to make a plea to the captors to release Carly. He is warned about this by his able assistant, a woman he rescued from the streets; but he ignores her advice.

Working with her colleague, Donna Johanson, Annalise obtains a firearm and makes a mad dash to rescue Carly in the film's climactic scene. Again, it strained credibility to think that Donna and Annalise could outwit and overpower the thugs.

While the film developed a moving theme about a mom's devotion to her daughter, there were too many scenes that misfired in the area of naturalism. Perhaps the biggest flaw was that it was simply never convincing that Annalist O'Neill was a judge.
