Review of Coach

Coach (1989–1997)
6/10
not bad for a 90's show...

The real problem here is of course, they had no where to go....by season 5 they had used up just about every good story line they had in them, and had resorted to plots that, although plenty of old fashioned humor in it, were beginnning to skim the edge of some social justice crap that dominates sitcoms these days...still, back in its day it was a fine alternative to some of the crap the networks were offering. lots of predictable situations (luther setting christine's wedding dress on fire) that were done hilariously, and always good for a roll-on-the-floor laugh out loud...but by the end of this, it just was a way to occupy your time for a half hour... some of the best plots involved coach fox's dynamic with son-in-law stuart; some of the worst plots involved very annoying Athletic Director Howard Burleigh and his annoying wife. Still, binge watch the first 4 and a half seasons, skip the morbid episodes (bob golic) and the put Fawlty Towers back on the telly.
